The Dukes Wedding | Bedfordshire Wedding Photographer | Abi & Ben

For the epitome of a relaxed wedding, look no further than Abi & Ben’s day. Just the two of them, their closest friends and family, a small church ceremony and then back to their local, The Dukes Pub, for celebrations and partying into the night.

Initially getting themselves prepared and ready for the day at home, the ceremony was undertaken at a beautiful medieval church surrounded by nothing but countryside and bathed in sunshine before we wandered towards The Dukes pub in Heath and Reach for the remainder of the day to meet more of their friends and family there.

If you’re looking for a relaxed and laidback day, take a look at the below photos for a little bit of inspiration.

Bedfordshire itself is a beautiful and historic area of the country with plentiful countryside and only a short journey from London. With a rich history stretching back thousands of years to prehistoric times. The name of the county is derived from the town of Bedford, which was originally a Saxon settlement called Bedanford – meaning Bedda’s ford – on the River Ouse.

After the Norman conquest, Bedford became one of the key towns in the region with Bedford Castle being built and becoming a symbol of Norman power.

Bedfordshire is a ceremonial county in the East of England, bordered by Northamptonshire to the north, Cambridgeshire to the northeast, Hertfordshire to the south and southeast, and Buckinghamshire to the west. The county town is Bedford, and the largest settlement is Luton.

The county features diverse landscapes, including the Chiltern Hills, which are renowned for their natural beauty.

Luton is a significant economic hub, known for its aerospace industry, including the headquarters of Vauxhall Motors. The town also boasts a major international airport, London Luton Airport, which serves as a key gateway for both domestic and international travel.

The county offers a variety of attractions, such as Woburn Abbey, a historic stately home with extensive grounds and a safari park. The Chiltern Hills provide opportunities for outdoor activities like hiking and wildlife observation. Additionally, Bedford’s cultural scene includes museums, art galleries, and a variety of independent businesses, including cafés, restaurants, bookstores, and galleries. The county boasts several beautiful towns within it. Woburn, Ampthill and Henlow to name but a few, all of which are well worth a visit. Bedfordshire even has it’s own share of exotic adventures – Woburn Safari Park and Whipsnade Zoo are both a great place for a family day out as well as the awesome Go Ape adventure!
